About the airport:
Crete’s second largest airport is located just 5km east of the main centre of Heraklion. The airport is named after the Greek writer Nikos Kazantzakis. The airport is Crete’s busiest airport and visitors arriving here will go on to explore Heraklion, Malia, Hersonissos, Elounda and Stalida. About Heraklion:
Heraklion is the largest city in Crete and its administrative capital. It has an array of museums worth visiting including, the Heraklion Archeological Museum and the Natural History museum. European route E75 travels through the city and is the direct way to travel to the cities of Agios and Nikolaos.
